The Lock Shop Unbarring FAQ to Free Online IMEI Repair

WHAT DOES BLACKLIST MEAN?

A blacklisted iPhone is a phone that has been prevented from accessing a network or service and cannot be activated on any wireless carrier until it is removed from the blacklist. Blacklisting is a feature implemented by carriers when a phone has been reported to them as stolen. (It prevents the device from connecting via the mobile network)

A phone can be blacklisted for a number of reasons, including:

  • The phone was reported as lost or stolen

  • The phone was involved in fraudulent activities

  • The phone's owner violated their contract, such as by failing to pay their bill

Blacklisted phones typically can't be used for activities that require a network connection, but they can still be used for other things like listening to music, playing games, or streaming over Wi-Fi.

To check if a phone is blacklisted, you can use an IMEI checker or ask the seller for the phone's IMEI number. You can find the IMEI number by:

  • Dialing *06# on the phone's keypad

  • Checking the phone's About section in Settings

  • Looking on the back of the phone, its battery, or the box

If you buy a blacklisted phone, you can contact your carrier's customer service for information on why the phone was blacklisted and possible solutions. If you bought the phone from a private seller, you can let them know about the blacklisted status. Unfortunately the carrier's do not remove the device from the blacklist, even if you have found your old phone you reported "Lost". The only way to remove it from the blacklist and back on the clean list making the device usable again is to order our services. We have many Unbarring (blacklist) Removal services and hold a very high success rate with this specific server.

FAQ

1. How do I remove my iPhone/Android from the blacklist?

Follow our Free Blacklist Repair Guide HERE.

2. How do I get my phone off the blacklist?

This service will do that.

3. Can I use my phone after the blacklist service is performed?

Yes. We cannot guarantee that your phone will be usable with T-Mobile service due to so many other factors with the client's cell phone plan. However, with that being said 9/10 customers are still using their device to this day that was previously removed from the blacklist using our service starting over a year ago!

4. After a successful blacklist removal service can I trade-in the device at a T-Mobile store for an upgrade to a new device on my account?

Yes, in fact I have personally done this myself many times. Our blacklist cleaning is so accurate that a T-Mobile rep will scan your device IMEI when trading in your device and review the device details and they cannot even tell that the device was ever blacklisted. Your device will be as good as new.

5. After a successful T-Mobile Blacklist Removal Service my device still shows up blacklisted on 3rd Party blacklist check websites, why?

The 3rd party IMEI blacklist check websites actually use data that is 2-4 weeks old. How the 3rd party blacklist check websites work is they actually get their data from the carriers and the GSMA database once every month. Their data is not up to date. The only official way to check up to the second data is on the T-Mobile website and checking on our servers since we have access to these servers. If we perform a T-Mobile Blacklist removal/repair on your device it will be clean/clear on T-Mobile website and on theirs and our servers. It could take up to 2-4 weeks for your device to show up clean/clear on the 3rd party IMEI blacklist check websites. This falls on some carrier sites and the 3rd party IMEI check website's and their slow meta data/cache refresh. This only occurs randomly. Most data is pretty close to "up to date" but now and then or 1 out of every 10 devices might take a while to show clean and clear on 3rd party websites.

6. Is blacklist repair/removal the same as "unbarring"?

The removal of your device from the blacklist is also called unbarring in industry terms. It is technically all the same just described by different verbiage. IMEI cleaning, unbarring, blacklist removal, repair, reversal is technically the same thing. It is the action of removing the device's IMEI off the blacklist and moving it back the the clean and clear status.

7. How do you remove a phone IMEI from the blacklist?

We have access to the carrier's servers and GSMA IMEI Blacklist servers. The Group Special Mobile Association (GSMA) is an association representing the interests of mobile operators and the broader mobile industry worldwide. Through the GSMA IMEI Blacklist service, 119 mobile operators across 41 countries share information on stolen devices every day, to help combat global theft. However, we understand you can purchase a device from a 3rd party unknowingly to you that the device was considered lost/stolen, or if you lost your own device, reported it stolen and then at a later time found your device. We can access these servers and actually remove your T-Mobile device IMEI from this list so your device can be used again. In fact our system is so good at removing devices from the blacklist, the original carrier will never know we, a 3rd party, independent company removed the device from the blacklist. If you look at our picture examples above, when we put your device back in clean/clear status it shows as "Removed By:..." and the carrier name when that was actually us. Again, we have access to all the big name carriers systems and servers. We can access, request, deny, grand and command certain processes. This is truly cutting edge innovative unbarring technology at it's finest. Come experience the very best mobile technology in the industry.

8. After I remove the device from the blacklist, will it ever get blacklisted again?

We have never had a case of the device being re-blacklisted...and actually the system does not work like that. 1st of all T-Mobile will have no knowledge of the device being removed from the blacklist back to clean/clear. Once the device gets back to clean/clear status it will stay on the "whitelist" as clean/clear. The only other way a previously serviced device could get back on the blacklist is if you, the client calls T-Mobile and reports the device lost or stolen OR you stop paying your T-Mobile account/bill.

*T-MOBILE CANNOT AND WILL NOT REMOVE A DEVICE THAT IS CURRENTLY ON THE BLACKLIST. EVEN IF IT IS YOUR DEVICE, YOU PAY FOR THE DEVICE AND OWN THE DEVICE. IF YOU REPORT THE DEVICE LOST OR STOLEN AND THEN YOU FIND THE DEVICE AT A LATER TIME...T-MOBILE CANNOT AND WILL NOT REMOVE YOUR DEVICE FROM THE BLACKLIST. WE HAVE THE POWER TO REVERSE THE BLACKLIST. WE HAVE ACCESS TO THE INTERNAL SERVERS. WE CAN GET THE DEVICE USABLE AGAIN.

9. Is the term "Blacklisted" the same as: Blocked ESN - Bad ESN - IMEI Cleaning - IMEI Repair

Yes, all of the similar listed above in the question are essentially the same thing. IMEI and ESN are essentially the same thing are are the exact same 15 digit number. So, a blocked ESN is the same thing as a Blacklisted IMEI number. Some people and sites have different terminology for items and/or services but all of these terms are the same exact thing. We stick with the official terminology: "Unbarring" is the process of Blacklist IMEI Repair / Removal.

10. Is this Blacklist Removal Service even legal?

Yes. Simply put, the removal of the device from the original carrier's blacklist is 100% legal. You will not void your device's warranty. You will not get in trouble from your carrier. You will not be penalized for removing the device from the lost/stolen blacklist to the clean/clear "whitelist". We back these statements with a full guarantee.

11. Will my device be unlocked after this service is performed successfully?

The blacklist removal service will not network sim unlock the device. The blacklist removal service and the network unlock service are two separate services. What this service does is move your device IMEI status back to clean and clear status so you can use the device again with the original carrier. Now if the device was originally network sim unlocked before it was blacklisted then it will be network sim unlocked again after the service. If the device was not network sim unlocked before getting blacklisted it will still only be usable on the original carrier. However, we can definitely network sim unlock the device after the blacklist removal service is successful to make it usable on any network worldwide. The blacklist removal just gets the device IMEI back in good standing status with T-Mobile so it can be used again on T-Mobile or a T-Mobile MVNO. If you want to use the device on a different carrier such as AT&T or Verizon a network unlock service will need to be performed on the device once this blacklist removal service is completed.

12. Do you change my device's IMEI number or issue my device a new IMEI number with this service?

No, we do not. Your device will have the same IMEI number after the service as it does before the service. Our method of "repairing" the device IMEI is cultivated from cutting edge cloud and server based technology. We do not change the device IMEI.

13. Does this Bad ESN Repair service work with non Tmobile devices, devices not originally purchased from Tmobile?

Yes. If your device is an "unlocked" model, meaning it was purchased unlocked, not tied to any specific carrier and it was blacklisted via T-Mobile we can still fix that device. Even if your device was originally a Verizon device and it was blacklisted by T-Mobile we can still repair your device.

14. Will Blacklist Removal Unbarring service work on currently financed devices from Tmobile?

Yes! Our service does support EIP devices (Equipment Installation Plan) - Meaning If you are making payments (your device is financed) on a device and that device gets blacklisted, use this service to get your device off the blacklist and continue to make payments on the device, using the device as normal with no restrictions.

15. If my financed device was blocked due to non payment will this service clear or wipe the money owed or balanced on the device?

No. This blacklist removal service will not wipe out or remove any balance owed on your T-Mobile account or on the Tmobile device financed amount owed. This service will remove the device IMEI number from the blacklist so it will show as "clean" when the IMEI is searched but there will be still a balance associated with your T-mobile account and tied to that specific device. We cannot guarantee your device will work after our services are used with a device that was blocked due to a non-payment. Some clients reported that their device worked (calls, text, data) after our service and some reported back that their device was still not able to receive Tmobile service after the service was performed. However, the client that reported back that the device was still unable to receive carrier services mentioned that the device was showing up as a clean device when scanned and we can confirm this as we also looked in the matter for him.

16. How did my phone get blocked? How did my phone get reported lost or stolen? How did my phone get reported stolen when i have it?

There are many reasons why a device might get reported lost or stolen. Most cases we have seen where a phone gets blocked, reported lost or stolen out of thin air is by pure accident. If you have your phone and are using it and then the next thing you know it is blocked or not getting data service it is because your device was reported lost and stolen. Now, we have had a number of customers this has happened to. The only thing we can make sense of it is when a different or random person was reporting their device lost/stolen they got one or two numbers mixed up or incorrect in the device IMEI number when reporting the device stolen. Another common reason is a relationship breakup where one of the parties maliciously reports the other's device lost or stolen as some sort of pay back. That is another common occurrence we see unfortunately. No matter the reason, we understand this is frustrating but it can be fixed. If this has happened to you, please order the service and we should have it repaired and back to normal or back on the clean and clear list in a few short days. If you are still unsure of what happened, please submit the device IMEI (1) number to our device IMEI scan check. We can see when it was blacklisted (date and time) and what is was blacklisted or blocked for.

Not sure if your Device has been Blocked or has a Bad ESN or is Blacklisted? Please use our list of unlock servers and run a check on your device

Unlock servers will not issue a refund if your phone shows unpaid bills after clean. If the imei shows "unpaid bills" after service is completed you will need to pay off your bill or the device before it can be used again on T-Mobile service. Your device will be off the blacklist, it will just still show "unpaid bills" in the internal servers or T-Mobile computer system.

*If your device was originally blocked and blacklisted for "non-payment" you can still run this service on your device. We have had some success in the past with some devices that were blocked for non-payment but we do not guarantee our services on devices that are blocked for "non-payment" or "fraud" and will not refund money if the device blocked for non-payment or fraud get rejected in the blacklist repair server. We only issue a full refund and insure our services for "Lost/Stolen" blacklisted devices. Please run your device IMEI on our free checking service before ordering a blacklist removal service so you can verify the type of blacklist before you submit the device IMEI --> CLICK HERE FOR FREE BLACKLIST CHECK SERVICE

*Once submitted, you CANNOT cancel, NO exception, because it is not possible for us to cancel while it is in service with your device's IMEI number.

*SERVERS DO NOT OFFER A LIFETIME GUARANTEE ON BLACKLIST REMOVAL BECAUSE OF SO MANY OTHER FACTORS THAT COULD HAVE YOUR DEVICE NOT IN SERVICE AFTER WE REMOVE YOUR DEVICE FROM THE BLACKLIST AND GET IT BACK IN THE CLEAN & CLEAR STATUS. SUCH AS UNPAID BILLS ON THE CLIENT'S ACCOUNT OR CUSTOMER'S BEHALF AFTER WE SUCCESSFULLY REMOVE YOUR DEVICE FROM THE BLACKLIST. SERVERS DO OFFER A GUARANTEE ON THE FACT THAT THEY WILL REMOVE THE BLACKLIST STATUS FROM "LOST/STOLEN" TO "CLEAN/CLEAR" FOR UP TO 5 BUSINESS DAYS. SERVERS CANNOT CONTROL WHAT THE CLIENT DOES TO HIS OR HER DEVICE PAYMENTS AND/OR ACCOUNT AFTER WE GET THE DEVICE USABLE AGAIN. BASICALLY THEY WILL GUARANTEE THEY WILL REMOVE THE DEVICE FROM THE BLACKLIST AND AFTER THAT THE DEVICE IS ON YOU, JUST LIKE YOUR DEVICE AND ACCOUNT WAS BEFORE THE DEVICE WAS BLACKLISTED. THE DEVICE WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY JUST GO BACK TO THE BLACKLIST, BLACKLISTING DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. THE DEVICE WILL HAVE TO HIT A "TRIGGER" IN ORDER TO GET BLACKLISTED. YOU OR THE CUSTOMER HAVE TO MISS PAYMENT OR STOP PAYMENT ON ACCOUNT FOR THE DEVICE TO BE BLACKLISTED OR YOU HAVE TO CALL IN AND REPORT THE DEVICE LOST OR STOLEN TO ACTIVATE A BLACKLIST TRIGGER TO HAVE YOUR DEVICE ADDED BACK TO THE BLACKLIST.

*Delivery Time (Wait Time) Avg: 2 - 5 Days. We are experiencing slight delays due to the popularity of this service and the fact that we are submitting a large amount of device IMEI numbers to our servers and the servers are experiencing a "bottleneck" effect. Please be patient, we are working very hard to get each and every device IMEI the proper time and dedication your device deserves to get it removed from the blacklist. The delay does not affect the results, if your device will get removed or not... we still have a 99% success rate. It is just taking a bit longer than normal.

*The estimated time frame of service is just that, an estimated, average time of service or completion. We are fairly accurate although some services can be completed faster than our estimated time frame and some could take longer than the average time frame. It is not a guaranteed time of completion. If the service is still processing we cannot cancel. It is an auto API server. When ordered, the service automatically places the order via our unlocking server and cannot be cancelled. It is completed when the auto API service comes back as "completed" (unlocked) or "rejected" (not unlocked). We only provide refunds for rejected services.

Please note if your device is financed and has unpaid bills it will still show that once unbarring or blacklist removal is done, it will NOT remove your balance or remove any money owed on the specific device or account. It will just remove the device from the blacklist while the financed amount will still be owed to Tmobile.

*Blacklist removal service does not support devices blacklisted via Chimaera Lock Policy enabled. Please purchase the Chimaera Unlock specific service offered in the list of Unlock Servers. Each Server offers different services and a few of them offer Chimaera Unlock. Check Servers HERE
